Beyond Surviving into Thriving

Beyond Surviving into Thriving

Take time to renew your self and recharge your spirit at this workshop developed for hurricane/disaster survivors. This special time, in a secluded and safe country setting, offers a genuine opportunity for profound healing.

The weekend begins Friday April 13: 7-8:30PM, and continues Saturday April 14th from 9 AM-4 PM.
Sunday and Monday are available for private sessions with Keith Karlson and Christina Johnson, facilitators for the retreat.

Friday will include a ceremony of welcoming the future and clearing out the past.
Setting intentions sets the atmosphere for re-creating a desired outcome and releasing contra positive debris from your mind and thoughts.

Saturday begins with a special meditation for centering. Using the Tibetan bowl, this meditation brings us strength, courage, and unity. We will be telling and writing our personal stories to transform emotional scars into life affirming patterns. By recounting our stories in a unique fashion, we determine how we have perceived our place, our authority, and our role in the world.
Using insights from the group, personal awareness, and story, we will begin the change from tragic history and loss, to belonging and wholeness.
Prayer and a bonfire will close the day.

A delicious gourmet lunch will be served at the midday break. The buffet will be mostly vegetarian with fish, poultry options.

Short and meaningful films will be shown over the weekend to assist in the transition from "Surviving into Thriving".

Facilitators:
Christina Johnson, MA, LPC: Christina holds an MA in Spiritual Psychology and specializes in body/mind integration. Clients begin to develop inner resources and create healthy, new belief systems. She also does bodywork to assist in the process of energetic/biologic healing. She has been using EMDR for the past nine years. EMDR is a therapy that is remarkably short term for any disturbance, such as trauma and addiction, as well as enhancing creativity, self-esteem and sports/stage performance.

Keith Karlson, MSW, LCSW: Keith is a licensed clinical social worker whose specialty is the use of creative modalities in dealing with life transitions. Working with hundreds of people in hospice, he has developed a unique approach to transition work. This approach allows individuals to directly access personal information through psycho-muscular analysis {muscle testing} and help formulate their own program of healing. He has also studied with indigenous healers from various traditions, and incorporates shamanic techniques in his practice.
